Baumberger has dedicated its skills and knowledge to providing the greatest possible sleeping comfort, always with a focus on sustainability.
Our passion lies in using our expertise for the benefit of humanity and the environment, ensuring that future generations—our children and grandchildren—can continue to enjoy the exceptional sleeping comfort of nature that Baumberger offers. To achieve this, we prioritize environmentally friendly production methods throughout the entire Baumberger manufacturing process. We strive to understand and respect the cycles on this planet, acting locally to transform globally. We think sustainably in every aspect, not limiting ourselves to short-term business successes. After all, trust is good, but control is better.
Many people ask how Baumberger natural mattresses and bedding differ from other natural products. While there are numerous manufacturers claiming to offer “natural” mattresses and bedding, Baumberger products—especially our mattresses—stand out because they are consistently certified organic. We sought out our own company certification voluntarily, which is not mandatory for marketing textile products as "organic" or "eco." We have sourced our materials largely from organic production since 1993, when we first manufactured products from controlled organic cotton, thus becoming trendsetters in the industry. Unfortunately, textile products are not protected under the EU Organic Regulation.
Since 2007, the EU Organic Regulation has applied to food products, ensuring that only certified products can be labeled as "organic" or "bio," from raw materials to the finished product. This regulation guarantees products free from agrochemicals, and the benefits are apparent in both taste and environmental protection. However, textiles are not covered by this regulation, meaning terms like "eco," "organic," or "kbA cotton" can be used in marketing without oversight. Consumers often must rely solely on trust, which we consider insufficient. That is why we pursued the highest level of certification, including the "EKO sustainable textile standard" in 1996, one of the first such certifications worldwide. Today, this standard has evolved into the globally recognized GOTS seal, assuring consumers of the ecological origin of our textiles.
To provide our customers with the highest level of assurance, Baumberger voluntarily underwent certification starting in 1995. In 2013, we achieved certification under the most important ecological textile standard. This standard ensures the complete control of the production chain in the textile sector, guaranteeing the same level of ecological integrity that the EU Organic Regulation provides for food products. By combining local responsibility with global thinking, Baumberger continues to set trends in sustainable bedding, offering products that are both luxurious and ecologically sound.
